It may seem to you that the All-Wire Retainer is fragile.  However, it remains durable while it is kept in the mouth. Because the All-Wire Retainer is so comfortable, it is possible to keep it in the mouth for longer periods of time.  It has been clinically proven for over five years.

The All-Wire Retainer was originally developed for teeth retention. However, in certain special cases, we may need to realign the teeth slightly. (See the Special Order sections)

I am concerned about the relapse time between brackets being removed, and before the retainer is set. Is this something to be concerned about? top

This is not a problem since DHL will arrive in about a week. However we recommend a temporary retainer to those clients who may still be concerned. We also accept “Brackets-On”.

It feels slightly tight when I put the retainer on. Is this a problem? top

It is not a problem. You may feel that it is slightly tight when you put the retainer on, because it is designed to fit right to your teeth. As long as you put the retainer on in the correct position, there will be no problems.

Can the retainer be used in the case of a tooth extraction? top

Yes. It is very suitable for this usage. The clasp holds the premolar firmly, so that the space for a tooth extraction does not get wider with the All-Wire Retainer.

Can the retainer be used with brackets on? top

Yes. The All-Wire Retainer with brackets on, fits a bit looser than a retainer with brackets off. A large “bonding mound” is created for stronger support.
